How are miracles possible? 기적은 정말 가능할까?

지금 많은 사람들이 기적을 믿는 것에 어려움이 있다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 사람들은 요나의 기적, 노아의 기적, 홍해가 갈라지는 기적을 믿지 못하죠. 심지어 예수님의 부활마저도요.

I now, a lot of people have trouble believing in miracles. They can't believe in Jonah or Noah or parting the Red Sea or even Jesus rising from the dead. 

 

그럼 저는 항상 그들에게 묻습니다. "성경에서 일어난 가장 큰 기적은 무엇입니까?" 그러면 그들은 주로 이렇게 말하죠. '글쎄요, 아까 말한 그 기적들 중 하나겠죠'. 그러면 제가 말합니다. '아니죠. 성경속에서 나오는 가장 큰 기적은 제일 처음에 나옵니다. "태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하시니라"

And I always ask them, what's the greatest miracle in the Bible? And they'll frequently say, 'Well, it's one of those. And I'll say, No, The greatest miracle in the Bible is the first verse. "In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the earth."

 

요즘 굉장히 흥미로운 것이 있는데, 바로 과학계가 창세기 1:1절을 괜찮은 자료라 인정한다는 것입니다. 

Now, it's really interesting that today the scientific world is admitting that the data for Genesis 1:1 is good.

 

그들은 이 우주에 처음이 있다는 것을 인정하고 있습니다. 글쎄요, 만약 우주의 시작이 있었고, 창세기 1:1이 사실이라면, 그러면 성경의 모든 말씀이 최소한 가능하다는 것이겠네요. 

They're admitting that there was a beginning to the universe. Well, if there was a beginning to the universe and Genesis 1:1 is true, then every other verse in the Bible is at least possible. 

 

성경속 기적들이 실제 있었다는 합당한 증거가 있습니다. 특히 예수님의 부활에 관해서요. 예수의 부활이 일어났다면, 예수님은 참 하나님이시고, 하나님이 가르치신 것은 진리가 되는 거죠. 

There's good evidence that these miracles have occured, particularly the ressurection of Jesus, because of the ressurection of Jesus has occurred then Jesus truly is God and whatever God teaches is true. 

 

예수님은 구약성경 전체를 하나님의 말씀이라 가르치셨습니다. 그리고 만약 신약성경이 믿을만 하다면, 구약성경 또한 믿을만해 지는 거죠.

Jesus taught the entire the Old testament as the Word of God. So if the New Testament is just reliable, you get the Old Testament thrown in. 

 

그렇습니다. 저는 기적이 가능하다고 생각하고, 실제로 일어났으며, 심지어 그 기적들은 오늘날에도 일어난다고 믿습니다. 하나님이 그것들을 행하기 원하신다면요. 

So yeah, I think miracles are possible and have happened and I even think they happened today when God wants to do them.
