교회가 존재하는 이유

Jesus wanted to make one very powerful statement to His disciples and this was that Jesus doesn't run from messy people. 

예수님은 그의 제자들에게 한 가지 매우 강력한 메시지를 전하기 원했는데.. 바로 이거였죠. "예수님은 죄 많은 사람들로부터 도망가지 않는다"

 

He doesn't run from messy people. In fact, I would actually go a little bit step further. You go to the Bible and here's what you find about Jesus. "Jesus runs to messy people".

그분은 죄 많은 더러운 사람들에게서 도망가지 않았습니다. 사실, 저는 여기서 조금 더 나아가고 싶습니다. 여러분이 성경을 보면, '예수님'에 대해 뭔가를 발견할 수 있습니다. "예수님은 죄인들을 향해 다가가셨다"

 

Jesus looks for messy people. Like you know what I love about the church. What I love about the church and all I love about this church is filled with messy people. 

예수님은 더러운 사람들을 찾아갔습니다. 제가 교회의 어떤 점을 사랑하는지 아시잖아요. 제가 교회를, 이 교회를 사랑하는 이유는요. 바로 '교회가 죄인들로 가득 찼기'때문입니다.

 

No offense. I'm just gonna say it like and I can say it because I'm up here preaching and I can tell you I'm a messy person. I was saved by Grace through faith and God got ahold of me when I was a messy person. 

교회를 까는 게 아니에요. 제가 이렇게 말할 수 있는 건요. 제가 여기에 서서 말씀을 전할 수 있고, 저는 제가 더러운 놈이라는 걸 말할 수 있기 때문입니다. 저는 은혜로 구원받았습니다. 믿음으로요. 그리고 하나님은 저를 붙잡아주셨는데, 제가 더러운 놈이었을 때요.

 

I would love to say that I'm no longer messy, but I still have that sinful nature in me and I'm reminded that I need God's Grace daily. Like I'm a messy person. 

저는 제가 더 이상 죄가 없다고 말하고 싶지만요. 하지만 저는 여전히 제 안에 죄스런 본성을 갖고 있고, 매일 하나님의 은혜가 필요하다는 것을 상기시킵니다. 저는 죄인이니까요. 

 

And the truth is the church exists so that messy people can come and encounter God. 

그리고 진리는 '교회는 죄인들이 와서 하나님을 만날 수 있게 하기 위해 존재하는 것'입니다.
