The President and I want to wish for every American a very merry Christmas.

대통령과 저는 모든 미국인들이 행복한 크리스마스를 보내시기를 기원합니다.

During the sacred season, Christians celebrate the greatest miracle in human history. More than 2,000 years ago, God sent His only begotten Son to be with us.  

이 성스러운 기간에, 기독교인들은 인류 역사상 위대한 기적을 기념합니다. 2,000년 전에, 하나님께서는 오직 하나뿐인 아들을 우리에게 보내셨습니다.

An angel announced the birth of our Lord and Savior to humble shepherds. He said I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all of the people.  

한 천사가 우리의 주님과 구세주의 탄생을 겸손한 목자들에게 알렸습니다. 그는 ‘내가 너희에게 모든 사람들에게 큰 기쁨을 줄 좋은 소식을 가져다 줄 것이다’라고 말했습니다.

Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord. You will find a baby wrapped in clothes and lying in a manger.

오늘 다윗의 성읍에서, 구세주가 여러분을 위해 태어나셨습니다. 그는 메시아, 주님이시며, 여러분은 옷을 쌓여, 말구유 속에 누워 있는 아기를 보실 것입니다.

At Christmas we thank God for sending us His Son to bring peace to our souls and joy to the world.

As you know, this Christmas is different than years past. We are battling a global pandemic that has affected all of us. Yet through this great challenge, we have been inspired by the kindness and courage of citizens across this country.

Teachers have worked extraordinary hard to keep our children learning. Students have delivered groceries to elderly neighbors. Communities have found new ways to stay connected to one another. Courageous first responders, doctors and nurses have given everything to save lives. Brilliant scientists have developed treatments and vaccines.

선생님들은 우리 아이들이 계속 배우도록 하기 위해 특별한 노력을 해왔습니다. 학생들은 나이 많은 이웃들에게 식료품을 배달해 왔으며, 지역사회는 서로 연결될 수 있는 새로운 방법을 찾아냈습니다. 용감한 응급구조원, 의사, 간호사들은 생명을 구하기 위해 모든 것을 바쳤습니다. 뛰어난 과학자들은 치료법과 백신을 개발했습니다.

We are delivering millions of doses of a safe and effective vaccine. That will soon end this terrible pandemic and save millions and millions of lives. We're grateful for all of the scientists, researchers, manufacturing workers and service members who have worked tirelessly to make this breakthrough possible. It is truly a Christmas miracle.
