Suffering 고난

What do we do with suffering? Most people and cultures spend enormous energy to create a world of safety and power that avoids suffering. Some might even think that suffering comes from a deficiency or mistake on the part of the sufferer. But the global pandemic, natural disasters, political strife and racial tensions of the past months have shown that no one is immune from suffering.

The Bible teaches that pain is inevitable in this world where sin has caused the decay of everything and every relationship. But God takes all suffering and turns it into good, even glory. And we can know that the Holy Spirit identifies with our groans, with the pain of the world, and shares in the longing for the final freedom of both. ***

 

But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently _ Roman 8:24-25
