Yeah. Thanks.  Kayleigh, why is the White House trashing Dr. Fauci and sending out opposition research, like memos, to reporters? The President has gone off on anonymous sources in the past. Why not have the guts to trash Dr. Fauci with your own names?

So, President Trump, I’ll refer you back. There is no opposition research being dumped to reporters.  We were asked a very specific question by the Washington Post, and that question was President Trump noted that Dr. Fauci had made some mistakes, and we provided a direct answer to what was a direct question.

트럼프 대통령은.. 다시 한번 말씀드리죠. 파우치 흠집내는 내용을 기자들에게 넘긴적 없습니다. 저희는 당시 워싱턴포스트로부터 매우 구체적인 질문을 받고 있었는데, 그 질문은 ‘파우치 박사가 조금 실수를 했다고 트럼프 대통령이 말했다’였습니다. 그리고 우리는 그 단도직입적인 질문에 분명한 대답을 한 것입니다.

Hasn’t the President made mistakes? He suggested at one point that Americans inject themselves with disinfectants, that sort of thing. Why not send out these notes to reporters, about what Dr. Fauci said in the past, with your names on it? They were sent out by a White House official. The President has said he doesn’t trust anonymous sources, and yet you were sending out these notes to reporters, anonymously.

실수는 대통령이 한 것 아닙니까? 대통령은 언제는 미국인들에게 스스로 소독제를 주사하라는 등, 말하지 않았습니까? 왜 과거 파우치 박사가 말한것들을 당신들의 이름으로 기자들에게 보내지않은 겁니까? 그저 ‘백악관 관계자’라는 이름으로 보내졌더군요. 대통령은 ‘익명의 출처’는 신뢰하지 않는다고 했었는데.. 그리고 이제 당신들이 이러한 정보를 기자들에게 익명으로 뿌리고 있는 것 같네요.

Look, I would note that in terms of the President and his record on coronavirus, he stands by the actions and the steps he’s taken in this historic response. You have Dr. Fauci who said that “the record of this President is impressive. I can’t imagine that, under any circumstance, that anybody could be doing more.” And those are the words of Dr. Fauci. We provided a direct response to a direct question, and that’s about it. And to the notion that there’s opposition research and that there’s Fauci versus the President, it couldn’t be further from the truth. Dr. Fauci and the President have always had a very good working relationship.

And on just a separate subject, very quickly. Does the President or the administration plan to make it very clear to the Russian Federation that there should not be bounties placed on the heads of American soldiers serving in Afghanistan?

Of course. We tell each and every country that.But what you’re getting at is uncorroborated intelligence, and you’re treating it as if it were true. To this day, there are varying views on the Russian bounty intelligence — DOD, NSC, and the ODNI all pointing that out.
