Hello, everyone. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have officially shown their blatant disregard for the United States Constitution. Apparently, it is now a high crime and misdemeanor worthy of impeachment for a lawfully elected President of the United States to exercise his constitutional duty.

여러분 안녕하십니까. 낸시 펠로시, 척 슈머, 그리고 AOC가 공식적으로 미국의 헌법을 노골적으로 무시하는 모습을 보였습니다. 합법적으로 선출된 미국의 대통령이 그의 헌법의 의무를 다하는 것을 탄핵시키려는 것은 명백히 중대한 범죄입니다.  

Article Two, Section Two of the Constitution clearly states that the President, quote, “shall nominate,” end quote, justices of the Supreme Court when a vacancy occurs. No matter the time, no matter the politics of the day, the President is the President. There is nothing in the Constitution that says the President stops being the President in an election year.

헌법 제 2조 2항을 보면, 대법관의 공석이 발생할 경우, 분명히 대통령이 “후보를 올린다”라고 되어 있습니다. 그게 언제이든, 정치적으로 어떤 날이든 상관없이, 대통령은 대통령인 것입니다. 헌법 그 어디에도 ‘대선이 있는 해에는 대통령이 해야할 일을 해서는 안된다’라는 구절은 없습니다.

The President has already appointed two strong, conservative justices to the Supreme Court — justices who will interpret the Constitution as written. Now he will nominate a third.

우리 대통령은 이미 2명의 강력하고 보수적인 대법관 후보자를 지명했습니다. 즉 이들은 헌법을 있는 그대로 해석해낼 대법관들입니다. 이제 대통령은 3번째 후보자를 올릴 것입니다.

As Senator Ted Cruz reminds us, “We’re one vote away from seeing our religious liberty votes [rights] stripped away, from our free speech stripped away, from our Second Amendment [being] stripped away.”  Just one vote. Contrast the President’s solemn constitutional duty with Democrats’ “search and destroy” politics.

테드 크루즈 상원의원은 “우리는 이제 우리의 종교의 자유가 없어지고, 표현의 자유를 빼앗기고, 수정헌법 2조가 없어지는 것을 보기까지 딱 한 표가 더 남은 것입니다”라고 말했습니다. 우리에겐 ‘단 한표’가 남았습니다. 대통령이 엄숙하게 헌법의 의무를 행하는 모습과 민주당의 ‘찾아내 파괴하는’정치적인 모습을 비교해 보십시요.

Nancy Pelosi has vowed to attack the President with, quote, “arrows.”  Speaker Pelosi will not rule out impeaching this President for doing his job for fulfilling his constitutional obligation.

낸시 펠로시는 대통령을 공격하겠다고 선언하면서, “화살”을 언급했습니다. 하원의장 펠로시는 ‘헌법의 의무를 다하는 우리 대통령’을 탄핵시키는 짓을 배제하지 않을 것입니다.   

AOC said that impeachment is an option, quote, “on the table,” while Chuck Schumer stood by, nodding approvingly.

AOC는 대통령 탄핵이 “선택사항”에 있다고 말했으며, 척 슈머는 그 옆에서 인정하듯 고개를 끄덕였습니다.

The plan of House Democrats is so rabidly radical that even Democrat Senator Tim Kaine has rebuked the idea, calling the idea of using impeachment to delay a Supreme Court vote, quote, “foolish.”

민주당 하원의원들의 계획은 정말 미친듯이 과격한데요. 심지어 같은 민주당 상원의원 팀 케인 조차 그런 생각들을 비난하며, 탄핵을 진행시킴으로써 대법원 표결을 지연시키려는 생각은 “어리석은 짓”이라고 말했습니다.

Some Democrats already have a backup plan if they don’t get their way on this nomination.  Congressman Joe Kennedy said, “If he holds a vote in 2020, we pack the court in 2021.  It’s that simple.”

일부 민주당 의원들은 이번 일이 그들의 생각대로 되지 않을 경우를 대비해 미리 계획을 세워놓고 있습니다. 존 케네디 하원의원은, “만약 트럼프가 2020년에 강행하면, 우리가 2021년에 대법관들을 통째로 바꾸면된다. 간단한 일”이라 말했으며,

Senator Ed Markey went further.  “No Supreme Court vacancies filled in an election year,” he said.  “If he violates it, when Democrats control the Senate in the next Congress, we must abolish the filibuster and expand the Supreme Court.”

에드 마키 상원의원은 더 나아가, “선거가 이뤄진 해에 대법관 공석이 채워진 적은 없었다”라고 말하며, “만약 트럼프가 이를 어기면, 내년 민주당이 상원을 장악할 때, 우리는 필리버스트를 폐지해버리고, 대법관 자리를 늘려야 한다”라고 말했습니다.

Senator, the President is elected to a four-year term. You cannot unilaterally reduce it to three years.  The President is the President.

상원의원님, 대통령직은 4년 임기로 선출되는 것입니다. 당신이 일방적으로 그 임기를 3년으로 줄일 수 있는게 아닙니다. 대통령은 대통령인 것입니다.

Democrats cannot win their argument on the merits. They cannot win on precedent. So they must search and destroy.

민주당의원들은 이 점에 있어서 이길수 없습니다. 그들은 선례로 이길수 없습니다. 따라서 그들은 찾아내서 파괴해야 할 것입니다.

Don Lemon said the quiet part out loud last night. He said this: “We’re going to have to blow up the entire system” if the President does his job as outlined in the Constitution.

That’s the difference between Republicans and Democrats. We fight to protect the system. We fight to protect the Constitution when Democrats say outright, “We are going to blow up the entire system because we do not get our way.”

이게 바로 공화당과 민주당의 차이인 것이죠. 우리 공화당은 우리의 시스템을 보호하기 위해 싸웁니다. 민주당이 “우리가 원하는 것을 얻지 못하니, 시스템 전체를 폭파시켜야 할 것”이라고 노골적으로 말할 때, 우리는 헌법을 보호하기 위해 싸웁니다.

This President will proceed undaunted by Democrat threats. President Trump will fulfill his duty. President Trump will appoint the next Supreme Court justice. President Trump will protect religious liberty. President Trump will protect our freedom of speech. President Trump will protect our Second Amendment.

우리 대통령은 민주당의 위협에도 의연히 진행할 것입니다. 트럼프 대통령은 그의 의무를 수행할 것입니다. 트럼프 대통령은 차기 대법관을 임명할 것입니다. 트럼프 대통령은 종교의 자유를 보호할 것입니다. 트럼프 대통령은 표현의 자유를 보호할 것입니다. 트럼프 대통령은 우리의 수정헌법 제 2조를 보호할 것입니다.

Under this President, our rights will be upheld, our Constitution safeguarded, and this President will fill that seat.

우리의 대통령 아래에서, 우리의 권리는 유지될 것이고, 우리의 헌법은 보호될 것이며, 우리 대통령이 그 공석을 채울 것입니다.
