As all of you know, the president and the first lady tested positive for COVID-19. They remained in good spirits. The president does have mild symptoms and as we look to try to make sure that not only his health and safety and welfare is good, we continue to look at that for all of the American people. He continues to be not only in good spirits but very energetic. We’ve talked to a number of times this morning. I got the five or six things that he had tasked me to do, like I do every single morning and he is certainly wanting to make sure that we stay engaged.

여러분 모두가 아시듯.. 대통령과 영부인께서 코로나 테스트에서 양성 반응을 보이셨습니다. 두분 모두 원기 왕성하시며, 대통령께서는 가벼운 증상을 보이고 계십니다. 지금 저희는 단지 대통령의 건강, 안전과 안녕을 위해서가 아닌 모든 미국인들을 위해 그 상태를 계속 주시하고 있습니다. 대통령께서는 그저 상태가 좋으신 것을 넘어, 매우 활력이 넘치십니다. 오늘 아침 저와 여러번 이야기를 나눴는데요. 제게 맡기신 5-6가지 것들에 대해 이야기를 나눴습니다. 매일 아침하던 것처럼 말이죠. 그리고 대통령은 우리가 계속 일하고 있다는 것을 확실히 하고 싶어했습니다.

I think the other thing that is critically important, the doctors continue to monitor both his health and the health of the first lady. We’ll continue to do that. They’ll be glad to provide some updates later today as we look at this. But I think the great thing about this president is not only is he staying committed to working very hard on behalf of the American people, his first question to me this morning was, is, how’s the economy doing? How are the stimulus talks going on Capitol Hill? A number of us in the core team of the White House, continue to get tested on a daily basis, like we have been.

다른 중요한 것은 지금 의사들이 대통령과 영부인의 건강상태를 계속해서 체크하고 있다는 거구요. 저희는 계속 그렇게 할 예정입니다. 그들이 오늘 늦게 그 상태에 대해서 업데이트를 제공해줄 겁니다. 그리고 제가 생각하는 우리 대통령의 대단한 점은.. 그가 여전히 열심히 일하는 것에 전념하고 있다는 겁니다. 미국인들을 위해서 말이죠. 오늘 아침 대통령이 저에게 첫번째로 물어본 것은.. 경제가 지금 어떻게 돌아가고 있으며, 국회에서의 경기부양회의가 어떻게 진행되고 있느냐 였습니다. 백악관에서 핵심팀에 있는 저희들 대부분은 매일 (코로나)테스트를 받고 있습니다. 늘 그래왔듯 말이죠.

And as we look to that, we were very excited about making sure that not only that the health and safety of the president and the first lady is addressed, but certainly that we address this battle together, as a nation together, and the American people can rest assured that we have a president that is not only on the job, will remain on the job, and I’m optimistic that he’ll have a very quick and speedy recovery.

이런 상황들을 보면서.. 저희는 대통령과 영부인의 건강과 안전에 문제가 없을 뿐만 아니라, 우리가 함께 한 국가로서 이 싸움을 이겨낼 수 있다는 것에 기분이 좋았습니다. 그리고 미국 국민들은 여전히 일하는, 제 역할을 감당해내는 대통령이 있다는 것에 안심할 수 있으며, 저는 대통령이 매우 빠르게 회복될 것이라는 것을 낙관하고 있습니다.

엄청난 지지를 해주신 모든 분들께 감사를 드리고 싶습니다. 저는 이제 월터리드병원으로 갑니다. 저는 아주 잘 지내고 있는 것 같구요. 하지만 좀 더 확실히 하기 위해 병원으로 갑니다. 영부인도 아주 잘 지내고 있습니다. 그래서 정말 고맙고 감사드립니다. 잊지 않겠습니다. 고맙습니다.
